About Us

Created in 2024, we are a Melbourne based and brewed Cold Brew Company. We've partnered with Melbourne based roasters - Some of the best in the world.

We created Barista Cold Brew because we were tired of coffee products that were loaded with sugar, calories, harmful chemicals and words we couldn't pronounce.

After experiencing the Nitrogen Cold Brew while working in Austin, Texas we wanted the Australian community to experience this for themselves.

Cold brew dates back to the 1600s. The Japanese had already been cold brewing tea when Dutch trading ships introduced the beverage as a way to transport and make coffee that did not require “dangerous fire.”

Today, Japanese or Kyoto-style coffee is made by letting water slowly, drop by drop, drip over coffee grounds in glass apertures suspended as a tower.

  • What is Cold Brew

Cold brewing yields 80% less acidity than traditional hot brewing. This helps explain why many people prefer cold brew over iced coffee. Cold brewing coffee also typically results in a coffee drink that has much more caffeine than a cup of hot coffee.

  • So,What is Nitrogen Infused Coffee?

Typically made from cold brew coffee, nitro coffee is a coffee beverage that has been infused with nitrogen gas. In addition to giving the drink a smooth, creamy texture, it also adds a natural sweetness and reduces the bitterness of coffee, which makes it a great choice for coffee lovers and new coffee drinkers alike.

Nitro cold brew is often compared to a stout beer, which pours out looking creamy and then settles into a dark color with a foamy head. It also offers a 5-sense experience: a smooth texture, rich taste, aromatic smell, cascading visual.

  • What does Nitrogen Do To Coffee?

    1. Nitrogen gave us a cool looking visual cascade. When you pour our nitro cold brew coffee out of the keg (on tap) or out of the can with a nitrogen widget inside, it offers a full 5-sense experience.
    2. Nitrogen gave our coffee a smooth, creamy taste without adding anything. It formed a creamy and frothy head on our coffee, making our black coffee taste velvety smooth and giving our nitro cold brew a latte-like taste without having to add cream, sugar, or artificial chemicals.
    3. Nitrogen is one of the world’s greatest natural preservatives. Nitrogen not only gives our coffee a very long shelf life, but it keeps our coffee tasting very fresh for a long time.

Benefits of Nitro Cold Brew

Nitro Cold Brew Coffee is Vegan & Keto Friendly

Nitro coffee is vegan, keto & friendly to most diets. It is free of carbohydrates, calories, and sugar. The same cannot be said for traditional brewed coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, etc which almost all contain dairy, creamers and other animal products like butter.

Caffine

Cold brew as well as nitro cold brew do actually have have more caffeine than traditional coffee. Cold brew coffee is brewed at room temperature or lower, for a longer period of time. This extracts more caffeine & flavor from the beans.

Healthier

Yes, nitro coffee has no sugar or calorie content. Regular coffee additives such as creamer, milk and sugar can have lots of sugar & calories. Though black coffee itself is bitter without these additions, it's still the healthiest way to drink coffee because it contains zero carbohydrates (sugar) or any fat like creamers do.

Lower Acidity Levels for Better Digestion

Nitro cold brew is known to have significantly lower acidity compared to traditional hot brewed coffee. This makes it easier on your stomach and can be particularly beneficial if you experience digestive issues or acid reflux. A study published in the journal Food Chemistry found that cold water extraction reduces the amount of chlorogenic acids in coffee beans, which are responsible for increasing gastric acid secretion.

  • Better digestion: The reduced acidity in nitro cold brew can help alleviate heartburn and indigestion symptoms often associated with drinking regular coffee.
  • Gentler on teeth: Lower acidity levels also mean less damage to tooth enamel, keeping your pearly whites healthy and strong.
